Description[ ]
The Detroit Police Department launched its latest deployment of ShotSpotter gunshot detection technology in March 2021. The sensors were primarily installed in a 6.5-square-mile area covering the city's Eights and Ninth precincts. Previously, the agency had tested ShotSpotter in 2014, but did not continue the program after the initial 15-month trial period. 1
