The General Directorate of Security (EGM) or Turkish Police Organization is the state organization responsible for internal security, which was first established in 1845 and is organized in all provinces and districts in Turkey. EGM operates in the places where the municipal organization is located, and the Coast Guard Command is responsible for the coasts and seas, and the Gendarmerie General Command is responsible for the rural areas.
