Summary |
---|
Metro Valparaíso incorporated a video analytics system that uses facial recognition with Artificial Intelligence to monitor the proper use of cards with fare benefits, such as the National Student Card and the Senior Card. The system, in operation since 2018 at the Puerto and Limache stations, analyzes in real time the images captured by the Closed Circuit Television, carrying out a verification process that determines if the passengers are holders of the cards they use. The tool was developed by Metric Arts, beginning its implementation in 2017 as a pilot project. The Metro Valparaíso database is used in such a way that, each time a person passes through a turnstile with a card with benefits, Artificial Intelligence compares their biometric data with those of the user registered in said database. Additionally, the system makes it possible to detect evasion and alert risk situations on the platforms due to the eventual entry of people onto the rails. |
