As part of a smart city project in Nagpur, Larsen & Toubro Technology services developed a facial recognition system amongst other products to be utilised by the Nagpur Police. 3,698 CCTV cameras have been installed with AI capabilities to detect crimes and accidents. This system will be monitored from a dedicated City Operation Centre at the Nagpur Municipal Corporation as well as the Command and Control centre at the police headquarters |

Nagpur Safe & Smart City project comprises a fully integrated City Operation Centre (COC) with e-Governance, the largest of its kind on a single platform that is integrated to a gamut of smart infrastructure covering 3800+ CCTVs for City Surveillance, Automatic Number Plate Recognition, Red Light Violation Detection, Facial Recognition System, City Wi-Fi, City Kiosk, Public Address System, Variable Message Signboards and 1200 km of dedicated City Network backbone. Other smart elements implemented in the project include Adaptive Traffic Control System (ATCS), Smart Parking Information System (SPIS), Smart Lighting System, Centralized Environment System, ICT enabled Solid Waste Management System and Smart Transport System. 1
