Description[ ]

The security team at Caesars Entertainment (Caesars) rises to meet that challenge each day. The Caesars security team is responsible for the safety of the organization’s more than 50 properties and locations, including nine resort facilities in Las Vegas — Caesars Palace, Flamingo Las Vegas, The LINQ Hotel + Experience, Harrah’s Las Vegas, The Cromwell, Paris Las Vegas, Planet Hollywood, Bally’s Las Vegas and Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. The heart of the organization’s security team sits within its namesake property — Caesars Palace 1

The multi-layered physical security strategy at Caesars has been built from the ground up, with the Security Intelligence Center (SIC) acting as a hybrid fusion center, global security operations center (GSOC) and emergency operations center 1

The security team uses video surveillance, license plate recognition (LPR) and facial recognition technology to secure the properties from new and returning threats 1

Modern gaming providers rely heavily on video to reduce fraudulent activity and control financial losses. Data gathered from video surveillance is also utilized to gain operational insight that helps to increase customer satisfaction and improve employee productivity. Therefore, as part of a comprehensive physical security solution, gaming organizations need to ensure that video data is stored, protected and accessible at all times — even during system failure events.

Caesars Entertainment EMEA embarked on a video security upgrade to achieve this goal. IT and surveillance leaders realized the need for a robust, flexible and scalable storage solution that would protect video and allow the organization to stay in compliance with gaming regulations. Taking the first steps, the organization began by transitioning two of their sites to a modern Milestone video management system (VMS) that integrated seamlessly with Pivot3’s intelligent infrastructure, allowing casino security operators to consolidate VMS hosting, security applications, and all workstations onto one centralized platform. By deploying Pivot3’s intelligent hyperconverged infrastructure, Caesars created a Smart Casino environment and were able to remove the need for complex hardware, lowering their overall costs and decreasing complexity. Additionally, the Caesars team now has the capacity to better adapt to new technology and find improved ways to use video data to boost productivity, reduce loss, and enhance safety, ensuring that gaming operations are never down and that critical video is never lost or degraded 2
