Description

The authorities of the Karaganda region advised to add facial recognition technology to the cameras installed in the region. So far there are 6586 in the region, but it is not clear how many of them will have the facial recognition.

- Камеры видеонаблюдения - это один из самых эффективных способов раскрытия преступлений. В частности, краж, которые составляют 46% от всех правонарушений в области. К примеру, благодаря камерам минувшим летом удалось быстро раскрыть угон автомобиля LandCruiser200. Нужно увеличивать количество систем на выездах и въездах в город. Это поможет оперативно раскрывать случаи, когда краденые машины и скот вывозят в другие регионы или даже страны для перепродажи, - сказал заместитель руководителя Департамента полиции по Карагандинской области Абиль Абильдин на заседании межведомственной комиссии в режиме онлайн.
Всего в регионе имеется 6 586 камер видеонаблюдения. Часть из них установлена в дошкольных учреждениях, местах общественного пользования и на дорогах. В местах массового скопления людей - на автобусных остановках, в парках и скверах - расположено чуть больше тысячи систем видеонаблюдения. Оборудование предложили обновить и установить современные камеры с системой распознавания лиц. 1
